The Hospice Cottage Thrift Store was established in 1998 by the Delta Hospice Society as another means of raising funds for hospice palliative care in Delta. The boutique thrift store carries a wide variety of gently used upscale merchandise offered in a lovely atmosphere. Conveniently located on 56th Street in Tsawwassen, there is easy parking and donation drop-off.

Lend Hospice a helping hand

Volunteers generously donate their time and expertise to operate our thrift store. They perform a wide range of duties from sorting and pricing donations and checking electronics and small appliances to helping customers or being a cashier or wrapper. We are constantly in search of volunteers wishing to share their expertise by helping us evaluate and appraise specialty items such as vintage clothing, antiques, collectibles, jewelry, china, dolls, art, small furniture, sports equipment, stereo equipment and many others.

The thrift store allows volunteers an excellent opportunity to support the hospice mission by helping to raise needed funds for providing patient care and programs. It’s fun, it’s interesting, and you get to work with some of the nicest people. No matter what job our volunteers choose, they go home each day knowing they have made a difference in someone’s quality of life. If you have a special talent or just some time to spare, please give us a call. We would love to have you join our team!

We gratefully accept donations

Thank you for your support. We always appreciate donations that are vital to our work. Our thoughtful volunteers carefully handle your donated treasures with respect. However, we ask that you only donate items that are suitable for re-sale, are clean and not broken.

Because we cannot repair items and have to pay for disposal, we are NOT able to accept:

Mattresses, Sofa Beds
Large appliances, Microwaves, Barbecues
TVs, VCRs
Computer equipment and printers
Stereos, Speakers
Children’s Car Seats, Cribs, Used Stuffed Animals, Broken Toys
Encyclopedias, National Geographic’s or Reader’s Digest
Non-functioning items

Recycling

Our enthusiastic volunteers have ensured we are recycling as much as possible that we cannot sell so that only garbage is put into the disposal bin. They have put systems in place for recycling cardboard, metal, plastic and glass, and for clothing, so clothing items we cannot use are recycled again.

Charities

Wigs and eye glasses are recycled to charities to re-use
