Sharon Farrish Sharon Farrish - President
Sharon has wide-ranging work and volunteer experience in the not-for-profit sector. Having served on the boards of the Delta Community Living Society, the Executive Committee of the National Board of Directors of the Make –a-Wish Foundation of Canada, and the Western Association of Directors of Volunteers, she brings extensive experience with the policy governance model. Sharon is currently Director, Programs with the MS Society of Canada.
 
Michael Rudd Michael Rudd - Vice President
Michael has had extensive experience operating his own graphic design and marketing company and now is owner and manager of Ope n Space Yoga in Ladner. He served as a Director at The Delta Chamber of Commerce and won the Chamber’s Hats off to Excellence “Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award” for his success in establishing the Yoga Studio.
 

Chris Stanton

Chris Stanton – Treasurer

Chris’s life path has led him to several continents where he has studied Civil Engineering and pursued an MBA before beginning his career as a Management Consultant. Chris and his wife currently live in Tsawwassen, where he enjoys yoga, swimming, walking and gardening.

 
Nancy Macey Nancy Macey - Secretary
Having earned a BSc in Rehabilitation Medicine from UBC, Nancy raised her family in Tsawwassen and became the founding Director of the Delta Hospice Society in 1991. Nancy served as DHS Board Chair 1991/1993 and resigned when she was hired as Executive Director in 1994. The Executive Director is appointed annually to the Board as Secretary and as a non-voting member.
 
Sally Alston Sally Alston
Sally has lived in Tsawwassen since 1991, raising three children and assisting in handling the day-to-day operations of the family’s property management and construction business. Sally has been a Director of the Marpole Women’s Auxiliary and has coached volleyball, basketball and soccer.
 
MaryAnn Burrows Nancy Friesen
After 13 years with United Airlines, Nancy became a long time resident of Delta and co-owner of the Run Inn in Tsawwassen through which she has taken every opportunity to contribute toward building a better community.  Having made the decision to retire, Nancy is now looking forward to serving her community in a new way through a commitment to the Society’s mission.
 
Margot Griffiths Margot Griffiths
Margot is a resident of neighbouring Point Roberts. Having retired after 30 years as a counsellor at the YWCA and UBC, Margot is now teaching counselling and diversity at Vancouver Community College. Margot volunteers with the Point Roberts Emergency Preparedness Committee and is a great advocate of volunteerism.
 
Marty Reynolds Marty Reynolds
Marty and his family moved to Tsawwassen in 1973. He spent most of his career in the securities industry. Marty has been a very active volunteer for the YMCA. He served on the board of the YMCA of Greater Vancouver for many years and then became Chairman of YMCA Canada.

Chris Pettypiece

Chris Pettypiece
Chris has chosen to have his family home in South Delta, where he grew up. His successful TELUS career and experience on the Board of the Sinfonia Orchestra, where he chairs its Strategic Planning Committee, reflect some of his wide ranging interests including all types of woodworking and a variety of music. Chris has merged two of his favourite worlds into one fantastic hobby - guitar making.

 

 

Heather King

Heather King
With a degree in Adult Education from Saint Francis Xavier University and 21 years in the airline industry, 15 of those spent teaching adults Heather became a school board trustee where she served one of her two three-year terms as Chair of the Delta Board of Education then as Chair of the Delta School Board, and has served as Delta councillor.  The Kings are outdoor enthusiasts and love living in Delta.
