The Delta Hospice Society is a non-profit charitable organization incorporated in 1991 in Delta, British Columbia. We are a community-based organization that exists to help individuals and their families experiencing a life-threatening diagnosis, advanced illness or bereavement, live with comfort, meaning, dignity and hope.
In any setting, our team of trained volunteers, staff and professional counsellors offer sensitive and supportive care to meet the non-medical needs of those who come to us seeking help. Practical, emotional, spiritual and educational support is offered through both our Supportive Care Centre Program and our Outreach Program.
The Society has a strong volunteer component with over 90 active, trained volunteers who work with individuals and families and 160 volunteers operate the Hospice Cottage Thrift Store. An 8 member volunteer board of directors governs the Society and there is a staff of 11.
As well as serving the communities of North Delta, Ladner and Tsawwassen, Delta Hospice is actively involved in furthering hospice palliative care services at the local, provincial and national level. Members of the hospice team are respected and recognized leaders in the development and delivery of unique hospice palliative care programs, volunteer services and fundraising initiatives.
