Oct 2012 - Ladner Village welcomed The Heart of Ladner Night Market for the third successful year

Living up to  it’s standing as ‘best fundraising event’ according to community voters, the Heart of Ladner Night Market proved to be a fun filled afternoon and evening event for the whole family, raising a grand total of $8400 to benefit the Delta Hospice Society.  
 
‘We really want to thank everyone for the passion and enthusiasm they brought to this event. The market was filled with fun activities, the sun was out, the setting was charming, there was lots of great food, music by the Watercooler’s band, and very interesting vendors, carrying a variety of items - jewellery , kids items, bath products and food accessories. People stayed all afternoon into the evening’, says Nancy Macey, Delta Hospice Executive Director.
   
‘We really owe our success to our sponsors, the 25 vendors, all the night market volunteers and everyone in the community who came out to support the event’, says organizer Michael Rudd. ‘We were truly blown away by the attendance this year’, he adds.
 
Major sponsors of the event included Diamond Sponsor Budget Foods, Silver Sponsor Elite Repeat, and Gold Sponsors Ladner Massage Therapy and the Harlow & Mary Ann Burrows Foundation. Other generous sponsors included Sunflower cards,  Bella Photography, Hair Candy Accessories, Urban Rack, Blink Kinds, Maria and Jolene, And then again, Reiko Designs, and Emma Lea Farms.  Billie's Barbershop did brush cuts for $5 and the money raised was donated to Delta Hospice.
 
The Delta Hospice Society operates the Harold & Veronica Savage Centre for Supportive Care and the Irene Thomas Hospice in Ladner and the Hospice Cottage Charity Shoppe in Tsawwassen..  The Centre for Supportive Care provides information and resources, individual and family counselling, group support, information on access to the hospice residence.  Services are for individuals and families living with the diagnosis of cancer or other life limiting illness, are at end of life or have experienced loss following a death.
